The Ma Mian skirt is named for its resemblance to ancient trapezoidal pagodas. It became most popular during the Ming and Qing dynasties, worn by everyone due to its diversity and memorable symbolism. Suitable for traditional festivals, weddings, and everyday wear, it remains one of the most sought-after styles of hanfu today.

This design centers around auspicious motifs of luan and phoenix birds—symbols of harmony and love in traditional Chinese culture. The phoenix soars gracefully above the mountains toward a blooming lily, its flowing tail representing a happy, loving union and best wishes for a long and blissful marriage.
